Planning notes
Wall cabinets are commonly hung with their bottom 18" above the countertop — about 54" from the floor — which puts the top of a 30" cabinet at about 84" (7 ft).
Shorter 30" cabinets suit kitchens with soffits or where a little space above the cabinets is wanted.
