Planning notes
Wall cabinets are commonly hung with their bottom 18" above the countertop — about 54" from the floor — which puts the top of a 36" cabinet at about 90" (7.5 ft).
With an 8 ft ceiling, 36" cabinets leave room for crown moulding or a soffit above.
